Chico has the widest mix of practice roads in our area, and it is where our office and cars are based. Around CSU Chico and downtown, new drivers deal with cyclists, pedestrians, one-way streets and tight parking. The Esplanade and East Avenue add multi-lane traffic and lane choice, and Highway 99 and Highway 32 give merging practice at highway speed. First lessons usually start on quieter residential streets near Bidwell Park.
The drive test
Chico students can take the behind-the-wheel test at the Chico DMV office. Book the appointment on dmv.ca.gov first. With the DMV exam package, lesson 2 is on your appointment day, so you warm up and test in the car you practiced in. How DMV drive test prep works →
