What the California requirement means for cost
Drivers under 18 need 6 hours of professional behind-the-wheel training from a licensed driving school. Most schools sell those 6 hours as a package, so the fair comparison is the price for all 6 hours, not the price of one lesson.
What should be included
Ask every school the same questions: Is each lesson private? How long is each lesson? Is pickup from home or school included? Is the car dual-control? Do you issue the training certificate when the hours are done? Are there fees for changing a lesson?

Paying
You can pay online, or choose "Pay in person" and pay cash or check to your instructor at the lesson, before driving (for a whole package, the full cash package price at the first lesson). A pay-in-person booking is a request our office confirms before the lesson. Timely cancellations return a credit to the same student; see the booking and refund policies for the exact rules.
